Reaction Steps

A mixture of the product from step (v) (21.5 g), polyphosphoric acid (120 g) and sulpholane (60 ml) was stirred at 130° C. for 2 days. The cooled mixture was poured onto ice/water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The extracts were washed with water, dried (MgSO4) and evaporated. Purification was by flash column chromatography eluting with 2% ethyl acetate in dichloromethane followed by recrystallisation from ethyl acetate.
