Procedure
Aluminium chloride (5.3 g) was added to a solution of the product from step (iv) in dichloromethane (30 ml) at room temperature. After 3 h the mixture was poured onto 2M HCl/ice and the product extracted into ethyl acetate. The organic phase was collected, dried, (MgSO4) and solvent evaporated under reduced pressure to leave a brown solid. This was triturated with isohexane/ethyl acetate and filtered to leave the subtitle product as a beige solid.
