Procedure

15.6 g (0.1 mole) of 2-amino-4,6-dimethoxy-1,3,5-triazine were suspended in 150 ml of dichloromethane, and a solution of 19.5 g (0.106 mole) of 2-chloro-n-prop-1-yl-sulfonyl isocyanate in 100 ml of dichloromethane was added at 0° C., while stirring. The mixture was further stirred for 12 hours at room temperature and cooled to 0° C., and 300 ml of n-hexane were added. The precipitated reaction product was filtered off under suction, washed with n-hexane and dried. 30.7 g (90.5% of theory) of N-(4,6-dimethoxy-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-N'-(2-chloro-n-prop-1-yl-sulfonyl)-urea of melting point 139°-41° C. were obtained.
