Procedure

In a manner analogous to Example 1(b), starting from the benzylamine salt of [(N-benzyloxycarbonyl-L-leucyl)amino]-methylphosphonic acid there was obtained (L-leucylamino)-methylphosphonic acid of melting point 262°-264° C (decomposition); [α]D20 = +59.7° (c = 0.67% in water).
