A solution of (2β,3α,5α,16β,17β)-2-(4-morpholinyl)-16-(1pyrrolidinyl)-androstane-3,17-diol diacetate (6.0 g) in methanol (70 ml) was set aside at room temperature for 20 h., during which time the product partially crystallised. Water (150 ml) was added to precipitate the product as a yellow solid, which was filtered off and dried. The crude solid was recrystallised from ethanol (110 ml) to give (2β,3α,5α,16β,17β)-2-(4-morpholinyl)-16-(1pyrrolidinyl)-androstane-3,17-diol 3-acetate (4.70 g), m.p. 112°-118° C.; [α]D20 =+33.1° (c 0.97 in CHCl3)
