Reaction Steps

To a solution of tert-butyl 4-(3-(3-(3,5-difluorophenyl)-1-oxo-2-p-tolyl-1H-inden-6-yloxy)propyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (24 mg, 0.04 mmol) obtained in Step 1 in CH2Cl2 was added trifluoroacetic acid (20 eq, 0.6 mmol). After being stirred for 1 h, the mixture was diluted with CH2Cl2 and basicified to pH 9 with a 3N NaOH solution. The organic layer was washed with H2O and brine, dried over MgSO4, and concentrated in vacuo to provide the title compound.
