Procedure

To a solution of 1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-sulfonic acid 3-(3-benzyl-pyrrolidin-3-yl)benzylamide (example 67, 108 mg, 0.26 mmol) and formaldehyde (37% in water, 0.2 ml, 2.6 mmol) in methanol (10 ml) was added palladium on charcoal (10%, 10 mg). Hydrogenation was performed at room temperature over night. The mixture was filtered and the solvent evaporated. The residue was diluted with dichloromethane, extracted with water, dried over Na2CO3. The solvent was evaporated to give 41 mg of product. Re-extraction of the aqueous layer afforded further 38 mg of product as a clear oil.
