The title compounds were prepared in accordance with the general method of Example 1, from 255 mg (1.21 mmol) of 1-but-3-ynyl-5-methyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrazole and 1-but-3-ynyl-3-methyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrazole. The crude residue was purified by flash chromatography (DCM/MeOH 99:1 to 98:2) to yield 33 mg (0.11 mol, 10%) of 2-(4-(3-methyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)but-1-ynyl)pyridine and 2-(4-(5-methyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)but-1-ynyl)pyridine as a orange oil.
