A mixture of 7-bromo-2-fluoro-5′H-spiro[chromeno[2,3-b]pyridine-5,4′-oxazol]-2′-amine (26.0 mg, 0.074 mmol), 2-fluoro-3-pyridineboronic acid (16.74 mg, 0.119 mmol), bis-(di-tert-butyl(4-dimethylaminophenyl)phosphine)dichloropalladium(ii) (2.103 mg, 2.97 μmol) and potassium phosphate (47.3 mg, 0.223 mmol) in a 2:1 mixture of dioxane and water (1.5 ml) was heated at 110° C. in the microwave for 20 minutes. The reaction mixture was subjected to purification by silica gel chromatography (SiO2, CH2Cl2 to CH2Cl2/MeOH=100:1 to 100:6) to give 2-fluoro-7-(2-fluoropyridin-3-yl)-5′H-spiro[chromeno[2,3-b]pyridine-5,4′-oxazol]-2′-amine as a white solid. MS m/z=367.0 [M+H].
