8-methylbenzo[f][1,7]naphthyridine-2,5-diamine was prepared (as minor product) together with tert-butyl 5-amino-8-methylbenzo[f][1,7]naphthyridin-2-ylcarbamate (as major product) from tert-butyl 5-chloro-6-cyanopyridin-3-ylcarbamate (from the previous step) following the procedures described for Example 5/Step 2. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6): δ 10.11 (s, 1H), 9.02 (s, 1H), 8.82 (d, 1H), 8.06 (d, 1H), 7.34 (s, 1H), 7.15 (dd, 1H), 6.99 (s, 2H), 2.44 (s, 3H). LRMS [M+H]=225.1
