Procedure

To a solution of 1-[3-(7-Hydrazinocarbonyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl)-phenyl]-3-(2,2,2-trifluoro-ethyl)-urea (120 mg, 0.30 mmol) and KOH (20 mg, 0.36 mmol) in EtOH (4 ml) was added carbon disulfide (241, 0.36 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated at 65° C. for 3 h. Methyl iodide (200, excess) was added and the reaction mixture heated at 65° C. for 1 h. The mixture was then cooled, placed in an ice bath upon which a precipitate was formed. The solid was filtered off, washed with EtOAc and Et2O, then dried to afford the title compound (89 mg). MS: [M+H]+=449.
