To a mixture of 1-{3-[7-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl]-phenyl}-3-(2,2,2-trifluoro-ethyl)-urea (9.8 g) and methanol (100 mL) was added 4M hydrogen chloride/dioxane (10 mL). The solution was stirred at RT for 90 mins before concentrating under reduced pressure to give the title compound (11.1 g). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 9.47 (1H, s), 8.81 (1H, d), 8.41 (1H, s), 8.24 (1H, s), 8.03 (3H, dd), 7.95-7.82 (2H, m), 7.60-7.51 (2H, m), 7.50-7.39 (3H, m), 7.37-7.28 (1H, m), 7.14 (1H, t), 4.03-3.42 (7H, m), 3.17 (3H, s).
