A mixture of 6 (0.11 g, 0.3 mmol) and KOH (0.025 g, 0.45 mmol) in 50% aqueous MeOH (10 mL) was heated under reflux for 30 min. The reaction mixture was acidified with HOAc to pH 8 and the solvents were evaporated in vacuo. The crude product was purified by column chromatography (silica gel, CHCl3/MeOH, gradient of MeOH 10% to 50%) to afford 0.077 g (74%) of 7.
