Reaction Steps
The product from Step 1 (214 mg, 0.43 mmol) was combined with triethylamine (35 mL), copper (I) iodide (0.4 mg), propargyl alcohol (50 mL, 0.86 mmol), bis-triphenylphosphine palladium dichloride at room temperature. The copper iodide was added last. The reaction was stirred for 3 hours then diluted with water and extracted into methylene chloride. The combined organic layers was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. After filtration, concentration and silica gel column chromatography with 1.5% methanol-methylene chloride (gravity column) as eluant the title compound (195 mg) was obtained.
