Procedure
The compound 2,3-bis-(4-carboxyphenoxy)naphthalene dichloride was prepared by reacting 2,3-bis-(4-carboxy-phenoxy)napthalene with thionyl chloride according to the procedure of Example 20. After initial crystallization, the product was again recrystallized from cyclohexane/toluene (1;1) to give a 96.5% yield of the title compound with the formula: ##STR24##
