A solution of (3R,4S,5S,6S)-6-Diphenylmethyl-5-(-2-methoxy-5-methylsulfonyl-benzylamino)-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octane-3-carboxamidedihydrochloride (the compound of Example 1, 400 mg) in conc. HCl (10 ml) was warmed up to 90° C. and stirred for 15 hr. After cooling down to room temperature, the mixture was evaporated in vacuo. The residue was recrystallized from EtOAc-MeOH to give a titled compound (268.2 mg, 55.6%) as a white crystalline.
