About 500 ml of NH3 were conducted at -78° C. into a solution of 9.9 g of 4,6-dichloro-5-(2-chloro-5-methoxy-phenoxy)-pyrimidine from Example 1e) in 400 ml of ethanol. Thereafter, the reaction mixture was stirred at -78° C. for 15 hours and at room temperature for 50 hours and finally evaporated. The residue was partitioned between ethyl acetate and water and the organic phase was worked-up. 8.53 g of 6-chloro-5-(2-chloro-5-methoxy-phenoxy)-pyrimidin-4-ylamine were thus obtained as yellow crystals. MS: 285 (M).
