Reaction of ethoxyamine hydrochloride with 3-hydroxy-5-(2,4,6-trimethyl-3-sulfamoylphenyl)-2-propionylcyclohex-2-en-one following essentially the same procedure as that described in Example 1 part (iv) gave 2-[1-(ethoxyimino)propyl]-3-hydroxy-5-(2,4,6-trimethyl-3-sulfamoylphenyl)cyclohex-2-en-1-one (12). The compound was characterized by its proton magnetic resonance spectrum which is given in Table 5, Example 37.
