Reaction Steps

1-Benzyl-4-[N-methyl-N-(3-tert-butylamino-6-fluoro-2-pyridinyl)amino]piperidine (EXAMPLE 153, 900 mg, 2.43 mmol) and palladium hydroxide on carbon (350 mg) in 50 ml ethanol is hydrogenated at 40 p.s.i. hydrogen for 24 hrs. Filtration and removal of the solvent gives the title compound, which is used without further purification, NMR (300 MHz, CD3OD) 7.38, 6.61, 3.16-3.27, 2.71-2.79, 2.56, 1.84, 1.61-1.66 and 1.33δ.
