Using the same general procedure as described for Compound 19 ), but using instead trimethylsilyl [4-(4-methylpentyl)]phenylethyne (Compound 31), the title compound was synthesized as a colorless oil. PMR (CDCl3): & 0.94 (6H, d, J~6.6 Hz), 1.20-1.32 (2H, m), 1.56-1.62 (3H, m), 2.64 (2H, t, J~7.8 Hz), 3.08 (1H, s), 7.18 (2H, d, J~8.1 Hz), 7.47 (2H, d, J~8.1 Hz).
