2-(2-Aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-n-propoxyiminoacetic acid (syn isomer, 21.8 g.), acetic anhydride (38.8 g.) and formic acid (17.5 g.) were treated in a similar manner to that of Example F-(5), and then the obtained oil was triturated with diisopropyl ether to give 2-(2-formamidothiazol-4-yl)-2-n-propoxyiminoacetic acid (syn isomer, 19.2 g.), mp. 164° C. (dec.).
