Procedure
100 mg of 2-amino-10-ethyl-thiazolo[4,5-g]-β-carboline-9-carboxylic acid isopropyl ester is suspended in 10 ml of acetic anhydride and heated for 15 minutes to 80° C. After cooling, the settled precipitate is filtered off and recrystallized from ethyl acetate. 51 mg of 2-acetamido-10-ethyl-thiazolo[4,5-g]-β-carboline-9-carboxylic acid isopropyl ester with a melting point of 208-210° C. is obtained.
