Procedure

To a solution of 5-(1-hexynyl)-3-(1-methyl-2-(S)-pyrrolidinylmethoxy)-pyridine (from Example 4a, 100 mg, 0.37 mmol) in MeOH (3.0 mL) was added Lindlar's catalyst (10 mg). The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The solvent was removed, and the residue was chromatographed on a silica gel column, eluting with NH4OH/MeOH/EtOAc 0:1:9 and 1:10:90 to afford a light yellowish oil (98 mg, 98%).
