Reaction Steps

1-(5-Amino-2,3,4-trifluorophenyl)-8-chloro-6,7-difluoro-4-oxo-1,4-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxylic acid (100 mg) and a 40% methylamine solution (88 mg) were added to pyridine (1 ml), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure, and ethanol was added to the residue. Solids were collected by filtration and washed with diethyl ether to obtain the title compound (55 mg) as a yellow powder.
