A solution of N-[(R)-α-allyl-(3,4-methylenedioxy)benzyl] urea (7) in ethanol (5 mL) was hydrogenated at 40 p.s.i. over 10% Palladium on Carbon (40 mg) for 30 minutes. The reaction was filtered and evaporated to dryness to afford 350 mg (99%) of the title compound as a white solid. NMR (CDCl3): δ 0.91 (t, J=8 Hz, 3 H), 1.1-1.5 (m, 2 H), 1.5-1.9 (m, 2 H), 3.8-5.0 (v b s, 2 H), 4.46 (v br q, J=8 Hz, 1 H), 4.96 (b d, 1 H), 5.95 (s, 2 H), 6.76 (s, 2 H), 6.79 (s, 1 H).
