Reaction Steps
In like procedures, 5,6-dichloro-2-amino-3-nitropyridine was reacted with trifluoroacetyl chloride and the resulting 5,6-dichloro-2-trifluoroacetamido-3-nitropyridine was hydrogenated to obtain 1-hydroxy-5,6-dichloro-2-trifluoromethyl-1H-imidazo(4,5-b)-pyridine, m.p. 207°-208° C.
