To a magnetically solution of 1.26 g (3.8 mmol) of the product of Step A in 8 mL of methanol was added 0.072 g (1.9 mmol) of sodium borohydride at 0° C. After stirring for 10 minutes, the reaction mixture was partitioned between EtOAc and water. The organic layer was separated, dried (MgSO4), filtered and evaporated. The residue was purified on a silica gel flash chromatography column eluted with 30% EtOAc-hexane. Combination of the purified fractions and drying in vacuo afforded 0.790 g (63%) of the title compound.
