Reaction Steps

0.114 g (3R)-3-(N,N-dipentylcarbamoyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-9H-pyrido[3,4-b]indole is dissolved in 2 ml tetrahydrofuran and 42.7 mg of m-tolylisocyanate is added. The solution is stirred at room temperature for 1 hour, evaporated, and the residue triturated with hexane to give 0.119 g (3R)-3-(N,N-dipentylcarbamoyl)-2-(3-methylphenylcarbamoyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-9H-pyrido[3,4-b]indole, m.p. 154°-155° C.
