Procedure
0.02 mol of 3-methyl-6-benzoylbenzothiazolinone prepared in Example 2 are dissolved, with magnetic stirring, in 200 cm3 of methanol in a 250 cm3 flask. 0.04 mol of sodium borohydride is added very slowly, with agitation. The agitation is maintained for 4 hours at ambient temperature. The reaction medium is evaporated under vacuum on a water bath The residue is taken up in water, and the precipitate formed is drained and dried.
