Procedure
(2S)-4-Benzyl-2-methoxymethylmorpholine (3 g) is dissolved in ethanol (50 ml) and thereto are added 4N hydrogen chloride/dioxane (3.4 ml) and 10% palladium-carbon (0.3 g), and the mixture is stirred under hydrogen pressure of 5 kg/cm2 at 40° C. for 6 hours. After removing palladium-carbon, the solvent is distilled off under reduced pressure. The residue is recrystallized from ethyl acetate-methanol to give the title compound (1.8 g).
