In 10 ml of chloroform was dissolved 173 mg (0.224 mmol) of 1,3-O-dioleoyl-2-O-(2-bromoethyl)carbamoylglycerol followed by addition of 543 mg (7.228 mmol) of 2-(methylamino)ethanol and 27 mg (0.209 mmol of diisopropylethylamine and the mixture was refluxed at 80° C. overnight. The reaction mixture was then washed with 5% sodium dihydrogen phosphate-H2O, dried, and concentrated. The residue was subjected to column chromatography (silica gel/methylene chloride-methanol) to provide 128 mg (74.3%) of the title compound of the invention.
