The etherification of 1.3 mmol of 5-(2,3-difluoro-4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-(6-dodecyloxypyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine using 1.7 mmol of 1-bromooctane in 80 ml of DMF is carried out analogously to the procedure indicated for Example 3. Chromatographic purification on silica gel 60 using dichloromethane as eluent and recrystallization from methanol gives 380 mg (51%) of colorless crystals, X 67 X1 76 SC 118-123 SA 147 I.
