1-(2,2-Dimethyl-propyl)-4-(4-nitro-phenyl)-piperazine (4 g, 14.4 mmol) was hydrogenated over Raney nickel (500 mg) in methanol (150 mL) at atmospheric pressure and room temperature for 3 hours. The mixture was filtered through Celite and the filtrate concentrated to dryness to afford 4-[4-(2,2-dimethyl-propyl)-piperazin-1-yl-]-phenylamine (3 g, 84%) as a yellow solid.
