Procedure
To a solution of 26-3 (2.0 g, 8.0 mmol) in MeOH (100 mL) was added a solution of Oxone® (14.5 g, 24 mmol) in H2O (100 mL). The resulting solution was stirred at ambient temperature for 20 h, then the MeOH was removed at reduced pressure and the aqueous phase diluted with sat. NaHCO3 (100 mL) and extracted with EtOAc (2×100 mL). The organic layers were dried, filtered and concentrated to afford 26-4 as a colorless oil.
