The title compound was prepared according to the procedure described in step 2 of Example 1 from 4-chloro-2-(ethoxycarbonylamino)benzonitrile (Example 1, step 1) and 2-bromo-3′-bromoacetophenone. 1H-NMR (CDCl3) δ: 8.25 (1H, d, J=1.5 Hz), 7.90 (1H, t, J=1.8 Hz), 7.64-7.59 (2H, m), 7.54 (1H, d, J=8.4 Hz), 7.34-7.26 (2H, m), 5.87 (2H, br s). 3.84 (2H, q, J=7.0 Hz), 0.89 (3H, t, J=7.0 Hz)
