The title compound was prepared according to the procedure described in step 2 of Example 1 from 4-chloro-2-(ethoxycarbonylamino)benzonitrile (Example 1, step 1) and 2-bromo-3′-cyanoacetophenone. 1H-NMR (CDCl3) δ: 8.21 (1H , d, J=1.8 Hz), 8.03 (1H, s), 7.94 (1H, m), 7.80-7.72 (1H, m), 7.63-7.52 (2H, m), 7.32 (1H, dd, J=8.4, 1.8 Hz), 6.10 (2H, brs), 3.88 (2H, q, J=7.3 Hz), 0.95 (3H, t, J=7.3 Hz).
