To a solution of (3RS,4S)-4-(4-Bromophenoxy)-1-pyridin-3-yl-pentan-3-ol (2.0 g, Example 4d)) in dry dichloromethane (50 ml) was added tert-butyldimethylsilyl chloride (1.17 g) and imidazole (1.08 g) and the resulting solution stirred for 24 hours, concentrated and the residue purified by chromatography on silica gel eluting with ethyl acetate:hexane (1:4 to 1:1) to afford the sub-title compound as an oil (2.52 g).
