3.25 g of tolterodine dissolved in 50 mL of acetone was mixed at room temperature (25° C.) with 1.29 g of L-pyroglutamic acid, which was suspended in 50 mL of acetone, and then stirred. In 10 minutes, there started to appear a solid precipitate. 50 mL of acetone was added thereto and the mixture was stirred at room temperature (25° C.) for 1 hour. The resulting solid precipitate was filtered and then washed with acetone. The resultant was dried at room temperature (25° C.) for 24 hours and 3.74 g (theoretical yield: 82.3%) of the final product in white solid was obtained.
