Procedure

A solution of 2 M NH3/MeOH (0.6 mL, 1.2 mmol) was added to a solution of 5-bromo-4-fluoro-1H-indole-7-carboxylic acid (20 mg, 0.078 mmol) in DCM. The reaction was stirred at room temperature overnight. The mixture was washed with water, and the organic layer was concentrated. The residue was purified by flash chromatography, giving 4 mg (20%) of the title compound.
