Reaction Steps
According to the literature procedure (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 189 (1957)), trans-4-hydroxy-L-proline (5.12 g, 0.039 mot) was treated with benzyl chloroformate (8.5 mL, 0.06 mol) to provide the title compound (6.0 g) as a white solid.
