10 mg (0.024 mmol) of 2,2-diethoxy-1-(5-(2-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yloxy)propan-2-yl)-2-thioxo-1,3-dithiol-4-yl)ethanone 5 was dissolved in 5 mL of CH2Cl2 containing 0.1 mL CF3COOH. The reaction mixture was stirred for 12 hours, washed with 20 mL of saturated solution of NaHCO3 and, the organic layer was separated and dried in vacuum to yield the target compound 4 as a solid material. Yield: 7.2 mg (0.02 mmol, 90%).
