A mixture of 2,6-dichloro-4-iodopyridine (1 g, 3.65 mmol) and trans-cyclohexane-1,4-diamine (2 g, 18 mmol) in ethanol (2 mL) was heated in a Biotage Initiator microwave reactor at 180° C. for 4 h. After cooling, the mixture was poured into water and the solid collected by filtration and washed with water to give the title compound. Yield: 1.02 g (79%). MS (DCI/NH3) m/z 352 (M+H)+.
