Cyclohexyl methanol (2.0 g, 17.5 mmol), ethyl 3-hydroxybenzoate (2.6 g, 15.8 mmol), tri-n-butyl phosphin (5.3 g, 26 mmol), and ADDP (6.6 g, 26 mmol) were dissolved in dry THF (100 ml) and stirred overnight at 20° C. under N2. Water (100 ml) is added, and the resulting solution is extracted with DCM (3×100 ml). The combined organic layers were washed with water (100 ml), dried (MgSO4) and evaporated. The crude mixture was purified by preparative HPLC to give 1.8 g of the title compound. LC-MS (m/z): 264 (M+2).
