9-tert-Butyl-2-(3-hydroxy-phenyl)-8-oxo-8,9-dihydro-7H-purine-6-carboxylate. 5-Amino-6-tert-butylamino-2-(3-hydroxy-phenyl)-pyrimidine-4-carboxylate (0.26 g, 0.79 mmol) and 1,1′-carbonyldiimidazole (0.64 g, 4.0 mmol) were reacted according to General Procedure F. The crude residue was purified using Biotage silica gel chromatography (0-50% ethyl acetate in hexanes) to afford the title compound (0.13 g, 0.36 mmol, 46% yield). MS (ESI) m/z 357.4 [M+1]+.
