4-Chloro-α-methylstyrene (50 g) and 45 g of 4-tert-butylphenol are reacted according to the procedure of Example 3 to afford the title compound in a yield of 66.6 g as a colorless oil. The structure is confirmed by 1Hnmr and mass spectroscopy.
