Procedure

Using the procedure described in Example 68, Part A, 4-methoxy-N1-(4-tert-butylbenzoyl)-1,2-benzenediamine (3.35 g, 10.1 mmol) was reacted with 4-methoxybenzoyl chloride to yield 1.45 g (99%) of the title compound as a white solid.
