A mixture of 2-(2-fluorophenyl)-7,8,9,10-tetrahydro-imidazo[1,2-c]pyrido[3,4-e]pyrimidin-5(6H)-one (110 mg) and palladium black (150 mg) was placed in a sublimator and evacuated (1 mm Hg). The temperature was slowly raised to 280° C. The desired product sublimed from the mixture and was collected after the apparatus had been cooled back down to room temperature. In this manner 2-(2-Fluorophenyl)-imidazo[1,2-c]pyrido[3,4-e]pyrimidin-5(6H)-one (Compound 1), m.p. 315°-320° C. was obtained as tan crystals.
