The title compound was prepared following procedure described for Intermediate 1, step 2, but starting from tert-butyl (7-cyano-3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-2(1H)-yl)acetate obtained in step 1 (3.32 g; 12.19 mmol) as a pale yellow powder (3.69 g; 99%). 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 9.50 (s, 1H), 7.43-7.40 (m, 1H), 7.33 (m, 1H), 7.08 (d, J=8 Hz, 1H), 5.71 (bs, 2H), 3.68 (s, 2H), 3.30 (s, 2H), 2.78 (s, 4H), 1.43 (s, 9H). HPLC (Method A), Rt 1.82 min (Purity: 91.1%). LC/MS (Method B): 306.2 (M+H)+.
