To a solution of ethyl1-benzyl-3-(3,4-difluorobenzylcarbamoyl)-2-isopropyl-1H-indole-6-carboxylate (Compound 43, 200 mg, 0.408 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (10 ml) at −78° C. under argon was added Dibal-H (1.0 M in CH2Cl2, 1.6 ml, 1.63 mmol) slowly. The reaction was stirred for 3 h, quenched with methanol, celite, diluted with EtOAc, washed with H2O, brine, dried over Na2SO4, concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by chromatography on silica gel (0→50% EtOAc-hexanes) to yield the title compound as a white solid.
