Following General Procedure F, ethyl3-(3,4-difluorobenzylcarbamoyl)-2-isopropyl-1-(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)-1 H-indole-6-carboxylate (Compound 45, 117 mg, 0.238 mmol) in EtOH (10 ml) was added NaOH (47 mg, 1.20 mmol) and H2O (1 ml). The reaction was stirred at 50° C. for 12 h, concentrated in vacuo to an oil then acidified to PH=5 with 10% HCl, diluted with EtOAc, washed organic with H2O, brine, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo to yield the title compound as a light yellow solid.
